International Motorwerks and WKBT Offer Environmental Scholarship
International Motorwerks and WKBT-TV will present scholarships totaling $1,000 to seniors in high school for use in their post-secondary education for the best artistic interpretation of Motorwerks’ current television commercial.
Motorwerks' current animated commercial portrays a trip to a hybrid farm to choose a hybrid vehicle and the trip home with that hybrid, where the hybrid becomes part of the family.
Scholarship entries will run through May 15, with painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery, photography, graphic design and any other reasonable form being considered. The winners of the scholarships will be declared following the Environmentology 101 seminar 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2 at International Motorwerks, downtown La Crosse.
“We think it’s important to support students as they learn more about the environment and move on to post-secondary education,” said Hybrid Guru Chris Schneider of Motorwerks.
Students from the La Crosse area are eligible to earn the scholarships. This includes students from Central, Logan, Aquinas, Onalaska Luther, West Salem, Onalaska, Holmen, La Crescent high schools.
